Meeting was called to order at 19:54 with 15 present.

John was not present tonight and Robert presided over the meeting. Robert welcomed everyone to the meeting. The meeting was broadcast live on the air tonight from the EOC. There was no testing tonight.

The microphone was passed around the room and everyone took turns and stated their name and call sign. Robert welcomed everyone again. We do not have a guest speaker tonight, but we have Show and Tell presentations.

Repeater update:

Merritt spoke about the 147.000. Still broken. Carl left a message to the tower company.

Ray spoke about the 145.760. Working fine.

Carl spoke about the 444.000. Requested that the repeater be used for the ARES. A motion was made by Dave, 2nd by Randy. Passed.

Robert spoke about the 220.000. It’s waiting for a home. 1.2 gig repeater to work. We need to buy a 50 meg oscillator.

Old Business:

Carl spoke about the Miami Marathon. It went well. Carl is a PIO for the ARRL. Everything ran smoothly at the command center. Amateur time was rated at $6,000 of time worked. We could have used more hams.

Steve spoke about the Ham trailer. It’s at Steve’s house. It needs to be put back together. Merritt volunteered to fix the tailgate. The roof should last a long time as long as we park it correctly. We should put something where it can be tracked on APRS.

Robert spoke about the free flea at Miami Science Museum. Good turnout. People sold and it wasn’t an early bird event. Lots of swapping, bartering and selling.

Orlando Hamfest is this weekend. Frank and Jeff are going.

Hamoctoberfest committee meeting will be set for next week. Please show up to help out.

Robert asked about any other old business and there was none.

New Business:

ARES person Carl will be submitting applications for volunteers. Antenna book. Thanks that were ordered came in and needs to be installed. 3 Kenwood radios.

Steve would like a letter of understanding between the Radio Club and Emergency Management.

Carl will be doing radio room updates the day of the net.

Lee is here from Germany. He donated 3 books for the DRC library.

Carl ARPC is sponsored by the DRC so that way insurance can cover. All ARPC members should become DRC members.

John said that we are listed as 501C3 but not in the IRS. John wants to submit the paperwork to be a 501C3 club.

Carl made a motion for ARPC to be under DRC, Steve seconded it. A vote was taken, All voted yes. Passed.

Felipe – Carl is PIO for ARRL. Andy is the technical operator for ARRL.

Merritt – regarding the 00. He wants to rescue the stuff at the tower abandoning the antenna but wants to save the cabinet and repeater. Ernesto and Sam want to help.

Bryan – If the 00 is taken down, Monroe and Dade won’t be able t communicate and it can effect the MS150.

Eddy – is going to contact the Richland people about the tower arrangement.
WRGP is leaving he tower as well.

Show & Tell – Ray brought a camera. Lee brought a military radio by Harris Corp. that cost $40,000.00. Brian demonstrated roll-up solar panels. He is involved in the Disaster Communication Assistant Team. He brought an antenna, solar panel that rolls up in a briefcase kit that is TSA safe.

Robert asked if there was any other new business.

With no other business, Robert thanked everyone for coming. A Motion to close the meeting was made by Carl, seconded by Felipe. Voted and passed.

The DRC meeting was adjourned at 20:15.
