Julio called meeting to order at 19:32.


Julio presided over the meeting and welcomed everyone. The meeting was not broadcast live on the air tonight from the EOC. There is testing being conducted. Everyone took turns and stated their name and call sign. 


Reading of the Minutes – Julio reported that the minutes are on the website.


Secretary – Joanne is not present, nothing to report.


Corresponding Secretary – Nothing to report.


Treasurer’s Report – Tabled for later.


Website – Website has been updated.


Club Elmer – Miguel is not present, nothing to report.


PIO – Dani has nothing to report.


Field Day 2019 – John D Campbell Agricultural Center, 18710 SW 288st, Homestead FL 33030


ARRL Technician Enhancement Proposal –


MS Citrus Tour – Brandon reported on the event located in Central Florida.


Net Manager – Brandon reported that the 146.700 is not working properly and this repeater has been removed and 146.760 will take its place on the First and Fifth (if applicable) Monday of each month.


Repeater Update:

147.000 – Jason stated there is an issue with the insurance.

146.760 – Ray stated there is no change.

444.200 – Merritt stated there is no change.

D-Star – A new amp is being install because the Homestead area cannot hear the repeater.


Presentation – Lloyd (Emergency Committee Chair) gave a presentation on Hurricane Preparedness. Dani spoke about Hospital Preparedness and Ray spoke about cell phone reliability.


Old Business – Merritt stated that the Hambulance was started and moved 4 spaces in the parking lot. Still pending new location for storage.


New Business –

  1. Virgil has several pieces of masting, if you are interested, please contact K4VSC.  
  2. Skywarn training is June 1st at the EOC.
  3. CERT – a few club members are interested in CERT. Ray explained what CERT is and does. Julio explained his experiences as a CERT member.
  4. Jason, Board of Directors, has requested we create a Nominating Committee. It was Second by Brandon and Thirded by Bob. Jason has been made the Chair of the Nominating Committee. We have two open positions: Secretary and a Board of Director. Please see Jason Swift, WB0ATS.
  5. SDR Radio Receiver – Ray spoke about the receiver.


Testing – One tech passed. Congrats!


Julio made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Brandon. The DRC meeting was adjourned at 20:37.
