Meeting was called to order at 19:30 with 19 present. We have a quorum.
Julio presided over the meeting and welcomed everyone. The meeting was not broadcast live on the air tonight from the EOC. There was testing being conducted in another room tonight. Everyone took turns and stated their name and call sign. Julio welcomed everyone again.
The minutes were posted on the website. A motion to accept the minutes as posted was made by Lee, seconded by Hollis.
Secretary: Joanne asked that everyone please sign in.
Corresponding Secretary: Lloyd is not present tonight.
Treasurer – Brianna is not present tonight. Julio advised that we have $3,437 in the bank.
Ryan is not here tonight for the Website. Julio announced that he has worked on the website and it is working better.
Club Elmer/PIO – Miguel not present tonight.
Tropical Hamboree – Lloyd is not present tonight. Julio advised that the War Memorial is already advertising for us. He spoke to Orlando and he will be sending out a mass newsletter promoting the hamboree. Frank said that he was the campground chairman but it was discussed that there may not be any space for camping. Julio will check with Lloyd.
Hambulance – Merritt said that it needs 2 batteries. Julio will take them and exchange them.
2016 Holiday Party – will be the same place as last year – Macaroni Grill on Kendall and 120th; you can pay at the door – $25.00 per person; same menu; it will take place on Monday, December 12 at 7 PM instead of our regular meeting here at the EOC.
Case Study – we have a celebrity – Jason Swift – a video was played where he was speaking about communications with the Coral Gables Police Department and other agencies and the 825 System – Harris P25 Network. Congratulations Jason!!!!
Jr. Orange Bowl Parade – – Brandon advised that it will take place on Sunday, November 27 in Coral Gables. We are still waiting for the final route. Need volunteers. Please see Brandon.
Winterfest Boat Parade – Robin Terill from the Broward County Races is looking for volunteers. It’s Saturday, December 10; if interested please email Robin at [email protected].
New Zealand had an earthquake and tsunami. Disaster Relief traffic is on HF 14.300.
Warrior Freedom Ride was safe and successful this year. No injuries.
Repeater Update:
The 147.000 – Jason said is not working. He has the spare that we are building. The backup used is 444.800 for a few events.
The 147.760 – Ray was not present tonight. Julio advised that it is not keying correctly and he emailed Ray.
The 444.200 – Carl was not present tonight. Julio advised that it works but the time if off slightly.
D-Star –It’s up and running. There was a small power outage at Jackson hospital and the system was down temporarily but it’s back up and running.
Emergency Committee – Miguel was not present tonight. Julio advised that hurricane season is not over yet. We still need to be prepared.
Net Manager – Brandon advised that there is nothing new. The net this week will be on UHF on 444.200; next week there will be no nets because of Thanksgiving.
Dave advised that we have 5 new techs and 1 new general tonight from testing. Congratulations!!!!
Hollis asked when the Hamboree meetings meet. Julio advised that they will be the Monday night the week after out meeting night.
