MEETING MINUTES

Julio called the meeting to order at 7:33PM.

 

Julio presided over the meeting and welcomed everyone. The meeting was not broadcast live on the air tonight from the EOC. There is testing being conducted. Everyone took turns and stated their name and call sign. 

 

Reading of the Minutes – Dani stated they have not been published on the website, they are on the club’s Google drive.

 

Secretary – Joanne is not present, nothing to report. Julio asked everyone to sign in.

 

Corresponding Secretary – Lloyd is not present.

 

Treasurer’s Report – $57.27 in the PayPal account, $5,270.39 in the checking account, $200.00 in the savings account. Grand total is $5,527.66‬

 

Website – Julio stated he cleaned up some of the menus and added to the pictures. The new membership app is to be updated. The repeater page on the website needs to be updated.

 

Club Elmer/PIO – Nothing to report.

 

Membership Committee – Jason mentioned we are all on the membership committee, there is no official committee. Jason recommended that we create postcard flyers. 

 

Rookie Round-Up – Jason spoke about the event that occured on August 18th. The team considered this event to be a success with 47 documented attendees and 173 raffle tickets were sold ($312.00). Club is considering doing another event in the Winter time. 

 

Hurricane Dorian – DRC staffed the EOC. We participated with Starnet and kept in touch with Broward. DRC is looking to create a team for emergency response for events such as this. Bahamas are currently using a maritime frequency. Club spent time table topping ideas for how to erect antennas to communicate to the islands. 

 

SARNet 444.600 167.9PL – Used during the hurricane. Both Dade EOC and Homestead EOC checked in during the storm. Thank you Julio and Steve for representing the local clubs. Changes have been made to SARNet saying that volunteers can not get paid to work on SARNet, it’s volunteer only. 

 

HurricaneCheckList.com – Ray said, it’s up and available for review. 

 

2019 Holiday Party – December 6th is the tentative date for the Holiday Party and tentatively at John Martin’s in Coral Gables. 

 

DRC Repeater Update:

147.000 – No update.  

146.760 – Ray stated it’s up and running, please use it! UM is possibly looking to relocate offsite. 

444.200 – No update. 

D-Star – No update. 

 

Net Manager – Brandon stated same net schedule is working well. Check the website and or Facebook for the Weekly Net rotation.  However, the net this week will be on 443.225 94.8 PL.

 

Emergency Committee Chair – Bob reminded everyone that it is mid-hurricane season and to be vigilant. Bryan reminded everyone to have 

 

Testing – Dave Thompson reported, one Tech tested and passed the General and then tested and passed the Extra! Congrats!

 

Old Business – 

  1. Merritt has posted the Hambulance for sale asking $2000 for it, there have been no bites. 

 

New Business – 

  1. None 

 

Presentation – Ray gave a presentation on TV Repair and then did a hands on activity in the Radio Room. 

 

Lloyd made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Erik and thirded by Ryan.. The DRC meeting was adjourned at 18:59. Dinner will follow.
